Difference Between Curly & Wavy Hair Extensions

"Curly hair" and "wavy hair" are often used interchangeably, but the hair types have several differences. Curly types and wavy types of hair differ in curl tightness, thickness and textures.

Although curly hair and wavy hair are thought by many people to be the same, wavy hair is actually a type of curly hair. The three main categories of curly hair are curly, wavy and kinky. Curly hair is often thought of as coarse in texture, but it is actually soft. It also has a reputation for being thick; while that is often true, curly hair also can be fine. Kinky hair is the tightest curl type specific to people of African descent.

Even if curls are fine in texture, curly hair has a thick appearance. The curls often begin at the scalp and keep their shape down to the hair tips,  Wavy hair is often wavy at the bottom and flat closer to the scalp

People with waves or curls should use a diff-user when blow drying their hair. Diff-users are hairdryer attachments that diffuse the air. As a result, curls are not blown straight or turned to frizz in the drying process. To keep curls tight, a low hairdryer setting is preferable while scrunching hair between fingers and oscillating the dryer. After drying, mousse or pomade can be applied, giving curls and waves body rather than weighing them down. Curls should never be combed or brushed when dry.

Steps To Be Followed To Color Or Dye Human Hair Extensions at Home

  • Need to buy hair dye, developer, gloves, and an applicator bottle from a beauty supply store or salon.
  • Gently comb through your extensions to get rid of any tangles and if you have any styling products on your extensions, it’s important to wash them out first as well. After washing and combing out the extensions make sure they dry thoroughly. Since using a hair dryer is not recommended, allow them to dry overnight before applying the hair dye the next day.
  • Next prepare the hair color mixture. Put on your gloves and mix up the right amount of hair color and developer together. After pouring your hair dye and developer into the applicator bottle, mix them up together by shaking the bottle for about one minute.
  • Now it’s time to coat every single strand of your hair extensions with the hair dye. In this case it’s a better idea to use too much dye rather than not using enough. Use a comb to distribute the hair dye while applying it. Once you’re done applying the dye, place the extensions on a hair towel and read the instructions so that you know how long they need to remain on the towel.
  • After allowing the extensions to soak in the dye for the allotted amount of time,  it’s time to rinse the hair dye out of the extensions. Use warm water and afterwards apply conditioner. It’s also important to comb through the hair extensions after applying the conditioner for even application.
  •  After gently combing through the extensions, wash the conditioner out using cold water. This will seal in the hair color and make the hair shiny. For a final step either use a blow-dryer to dry the hair extensions or allow them to air-dry.

Human hairextensions can give you more volume, texture and a completely new look. If you have thin hair, human hair extensions are the answer for a full luxurious head of hair. Women and men with short hair can have long locks with the addition of human hair extensions.
human hair extensions can be styled just like your natural hair and won't mat up. They last longer and when expertly placed are impossible to tell from your natural hair.

Sew In Human Hair Extensions:

Sew in extensions are sewn onto very small tracts of braided hair. Your stylist will section your hair and make very small horizontal or vertical braids close to your scalp. She will then sew the human hair extensions onto the braids. This is a very effective way to place extensions and if properly maintained can last up to eight weeks.

  • The pros for sew in extensions include the ease of placement, long lasting and when placed correctly undetectable. You can wash and style sew in extensions just like your natural hair.
  • The cons may include breakage if the braids are done too tightly, buildup of oil and dirt of you don't wash your hair regularly and it does take some time to braid your hair.

Locking Human Hair Extensions:

Locking extensions are also an effective way to add length and volume to your hair. The extensions are placed in your hair by a process which attaches the wefts to your natural hair and are also completely undetectable if done correctly.

  • The pros to locking extensions include the durability of the process, you can style your extensions along with your natural hair with curling or flat irons, and when properly maintained can last eight weeks or more.
  • The cons to locking human hair extensions may include damage to your natural hair if your stylist is not properly trained and certified, and a buildup of dirt and oil if you don't wash your hair often enough.
Talk to your stylist if you're interested in having sew in or locking extensions. Use only high quality human hair extensions for the best results. Your stylist will give you an expert consultation to determine which type of placement method is best for your hair. Get the hair you always wanted with sew in or locking human hair extensions.

Types of Lace Wigs

The lace wig is usually attached with the assistance of glues and tapes, which are applied to the front hairline area. Once the glue has dried, the front lace portion of the wig is affixed to the area where the glue has been applied on the hairline, creating a tight bond which keeps the lace wig in place on the head. Some lace wigs also have what is referred to as "baby hair" around the temple areas which is used to cover up any visible signs of lace on the forehead, the baby hair also helps to create a realistic hairline. Once applied the lace front wig will usually stay bonded for up to a week.

The makers of lace wigs are not eager to share their trade secrets on how these wigs are actually made. Suffice it to say, lace wigs are prized because of the fact that they look so natural and are made from human hair or are made so well they look like they're made of human hair. There are different kinds lace wigs that work well for different kinds of hair loss.

Full Lace Wigs: The full lace wig is one that covers the most of the wearer's head. The full lace wig is made to fit the wearer's head and it can follow the wearer's natural hairline. A nice feature of these wigs is that they can be made with a part and can even be styled.

Lace Front Wigs: This lace wig does not cover as much of the wearer's head as a full lace wig. The lace front wig covers the front of the head, and runs from ear to ear. A good feature of this wig is that you can repair it easily. However, it can't be styled as easily as a full lace wig.

Virgin Lace Wig: The name refers to the fact that the hair from which the lace wig is made is untreated. The hair is chosen for its quality and color. These wigs cannot be dyed.

Celebrity Lace Wig: Celebrity lace wigs are designed to look like the hair of famous people. If you wish to have hair like Beyonce, Kimberly J or even Mariah, there's a celebrity lace wig for you.

Custom Full Lace Wig: These lace wigs are made carefully to look as natural as possible. According to some makers, they're made to look as though the hair had grown exactly as your own hair would. These lace wigs are often chosen by people who experience hair loss or are undergoing hair-replacement therapy.

Change Your Thin Hair To Best Hair- Know How?

Human hair is one of the finest products of nature and there is nothing like it. It is made of strands of proteins and they are best source of protection from sunlight for your head. Without hairs the head will start to heat up causing headache, nausea, decrease in memory function and other problems. Besides its medical benefits hairs are also widely used in beauty industry especially for making hair extensions. It is also an interesting fact that everyone has different nature of hairs which varies with regions such as Asians have fairly thick hairs than people who live in Europe while people near Atlantic region has light color hairs and have a different texture.

Hair thinning is becoming a major problem and you will see every other women complaining about it. Some people have thin hairs naturally and nothing can be done about it but as age increases the body’s tendency to absorb nutrients in food decreases. It is not just about hairs but you will also find changes in the body. As the age increases one should take more care of the body and eat foods that are full of nutrition so that the body gets all the nutrients and vitamins it needs. The best way to thicken the hairs is to provide body with plenty of proteins and apply food such as egg and yogurt, after making paste using a good recipe, as they will help the hairs extract nutrients from the food which body wasn’t able to. In either case you can use best hair extensions for thin hair for the time being to enjoy the party and look good.

But in order to use hair extensions you need to have basic hairs that are strong enough to carry the weight of the extensions. Take protein and nutrient through out the day for a month to strengthen hair roots and thicken them so that you get the best of hair extensions. But some people want to increase the beauty of their hairs by using hair extensions that are made from real hairs. Some people can’t grow long hairs either because they don’t want to as it requires taking good care of hairs or their hairs break before they reach long lengths. In either case you have the choice to buy human hair extensions that you can clip to your real hairs.

Kinky Curly Hair Extensions

Kinky hair, also known as afro-textured hair, is perhaps the curly hair type that requires the most specific hair care and grooming. This curl type is most common with gents of African heritage, hence the “afro-textured” name, although this curl type can also occur in guys with other heritages.

Kinky hair is the most delicate of curl types because the hair strands (i.e. individual hairs) grow with a very irregular surface, meaning that a kinky-haired strand will have the least tensile strength and will be prone to breakage (i.e. the hair strands will break upon manipulating them too much)

In kinky hair, the direction and pattern of the curl is defined as inconsistent or non-existent, because it can change several times down the strand. Not only does the pattern of the curl change as you go down the strand, but the direction of the curl can change too. Kinky hair is also very springy, and can appear 1/4 as long as it really is.  The springiness of the hair in combination with the changing curl pattern is what causes the fold in on itself and easily tangle when worn in a natural state. That is why stretching the hair and protective styling is very helpful in growing kinky hair to longer lengths. We interrupt the tangling process, and beat the hair at its own game.

kinky-curly hair refers to hair with a tighter curl pattern, be it inconsistent or consistent. All of the men pictured above have kinky curly hair. Some curlier than kinky; some kinkier than curly. You might find that you have multiple types of hair on your head.

A person with either or both "types" of hair can play up the kinkiness or the curliness of the hair. Depending on how you want your hair to look, you can either enhance or mask the curl pattern, giving it the appearance of a different "type of hair."

Twist-outs, braid outs, bantu knot-outs, and use of gel and products are examples of styles that enhance or create a curl pattern.
